This may a little bit tricky, but surely this is a chair although it has the hammock style. Not quite a chair collection nor a series of hammocks per say, these suspended seating elements combine the comfort of the former with the support of the latter to create cool new contemporary furniture object that requires no stand, or any other means of floor support for that matter.

You may call it the Holy Chair as it is looks bright and illuminated, but the Japanese designer, takeshi miyakawa, named it Holey Chair. It is first exhibited in designboom’s ‘asia now’ exhibition held at dwell on design in los angeles in june 2010. What it really is? the ‘holey chair’ is a light fixture constructed from white acrylic in the shape of a chair frame.

Who said that laundry baskets should be boring? Polyp by Helene Steiner is a laundry basket and a wall ornament at once. It could be easily filled with the dirty laundry through the opening on its front. When it’s full that means one washing machine load is ready. The shape of the basket is so thoughtful than nothing can fall out when it’s on the wall.

Jaime Hayón Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974.
